Pinnacle Bank needs your help to find our community’s heroes

Some superheroes are real. They are all around us, teaching us, supporting us… inspiring us. We all have witnessed a hero in our lives and in our community. This hero could be a teacher who never gave up on you, a helping hand in a time of need, or simply a friend and loved one.

With Pinnacle Bank’s Thank a Hero Contest, now is your opportunity to thank the heroes in your life and community by nominating them.

Pinnacle Bank will donate $5, up to a maximum of $1000 for EACH nomination. This money will be divided and donated to our local and state chapters of the following charities: American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and Wounded Warriors.

“It’s like coming home,” he said. “I live alone and I come down here for their great hospitality and great food.”

The Hungry Bear Restaurant 🙂

First off, they are now selling Breakfast!  But that isn’t the real story. The story that’s worth telling is how hard this not-so-little family has worked to provide customers, like Bruce Omara, a great experience with tasty food and an atmosphere that inspires comfort and a second-home feel.

My Credit/Debit card has a chip in it…now what?

You may, or may not, have a card in your wallet that has an “EMV” chip embedded in it. If you don’t have one yet, odds are that by the middle of next year you will.

I will not go into how these chips work, because I believe that most of us couldn’t care less about how it works and more about how this change will affect how we use our cards for groceries and things like our Friday night pizza. I have included a few examples below:

Little Paradise Preschoolers learn about Screen Printing at Mountain West

(Cody, WY) – Recently, a group of children from A Little Paradise Preschool got to tour a local Screen Printing business in Cody. The children eagerly watched how shirts and other items were printed using the age-old method of Screen Printing; forcing ink through a design that is burned into a porous screen. Walking through the entire process, the kids learned how the design is made on the screens, what inks and colors can be used, and the use of a hot Dryer to cure the ink.

Save money and improve your and your family’s safety with these 10 simple steps

Winter’s on its way! Get ready by preparing your home and vehicle for colder weather. You can improve your safety, save money and keep comfortable throughout winter with a few simple steps:

At the Home:gutters

1. Clean the Gutters. Clear debris from gutters and test downspouts for drainage to protect against water damage.

2. Trim the Trees. Cut back dead or dying limbs and any branches that can touch the roof or siding. When it’s windy, branches can rub or scratch the surfaces of your home and cause damage. They also could fall during a storm or break under heavy snow and ice.

Wyoming has two more winners. In the May 12 Mega Millions drawing, a lucky WyoLotto player bought a ticket and spent an extra $1 for the Megaplier which was 5X for the night.  That turned their initial $5,000 winnings into $25,000 after they matched four out of five numbers plus the Mega Ball number. The ticket was sold at Kelly’s Convenience Center located at 1652 9th Street in Rock Springs.

A second WyoLotto player matched four out of five numbers and, thanks to the extra $1 spent on the Megaplier, turned a winning $500 ticket into $2,500. The ticket was sold at Reese and Ray’s IGA located at 225 South 4th Street in Thermopolis.
