Dispatch: Woman arrested after allegedly taking cat; Powell man charged with stalking

(Park County, Wyo.) – Here is the Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, recap of law enforcement activity in the Cody area. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Lindsy Dawe, Cody, 31, Arrested for Warrant.

Jack Carr, Powell, 36, Arrested for Stalking and Breach of Peace. At 8:55 p.m. on Saturday, a caller on 12th Street reported that someone who had been trespassed from her home was now sending harassing messages. Carr was subsequently arrested.

Maureen Nesbit, Cody, 68, Arrested for Breach of Peace. At 4:49 p.m., a caller on Pioneer Avenue reported that she believed her neighbor might have taken her cat. Nesbit was contacted and arrested.

Scott Kraft, Cody, 55, Arrested for Drivng Under the Influence – 3rd offense within 10 years and Hit & Run with Property Damage.

Derek workman, Cody, 24, Arrested for Warrant and Careless Driving.


At 12:52 a.m. on Friday, police were called to the Comfort Inn for a report of an altercation between two individuals. The caller thought it was only verbal. Police provided assistance and no arrests were made.

At 9:21 a.m., an anonymous caller at the Cody Laundromat reported there was someone there who was wanted on a warrant. Police were unable to locate the man.

A warning was issued to one driver following a 10:22 a.m. crash between a Honda and a Toyota at the intersection of 11th and Cody. There were no injuries.

At 4:23 p.m., a caller at a local funeral home reported that there was a woman who comes in every day checking to see if someone she knew had died. The caller thought the woman might need some help. Police made contacted with the woman.

A creepy man was reported at a local story at about 6:30 p.m. The caller said an older man had been in the store for at least half an hour and made a comment about knowing the clerk was the only other person there.

At 3:04 p.m. on Saturday, a caller on Goodturn Drive reported that a garage was found to have three broken windows and three or four strange holes. There was also minor damage to a fence.

At 1:04 a.m. on Sunday, a caller on Carey Street reported a “raging” party at neighboring residence.

At 1:45 a.m., an intoxicated person was trying to fight people in the alley behind the Silver Dollar Bar. The man was gone when police arrived.

At 6:10 p.m., a caller at a local lodge reported that a neighboring property was dealing with bed bugs and was putting mattresses against the caller’s building.

These are the call details for the week of Nov. 1 through Nov. 7.

At 3:02 p.m. on Monday, a caller on Lane 14 near Powell reported a suspicious camo truck that had all the windows blocked aside from a small hole, that the caller thought was used for shooting. The caller believed all the land there was private. The suspicious truck was gone when deputies arrived.

Deputies assisted with a crash at 1:32 a.m. on Tuesday at Road 12 and Lane 6 near Powell. A single subject was reportedly pinned in a crash. Additional information was not immediately available.

At 10:56 a.m. on Tuesday, a caller at Double Doc Ranch reported tires slashed on a vehicle.

At 1:16 p.m., a caller on Douglas Drive reported that she was surrounded by her neighbors’ dogs, which were at large and on her property.

An assault at the detention center was logged at 7:53 p.m. on Tuesday.

Deputies assisted firefighters with a trailer fire on Road 10 near Powell on Thursday morning.

At 9:53 a.m. on Friday, a caller at Clark School requested deputies’ assistance with a 6-year-old student out of control.

At 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, a caller in the area of Highway 294 and 14A reported that a ton of hay had been stolen overnight.

At 2:59 p.m., a caller reported that her daughter driving a vehicle had hit three pedestrians on Barrus Avenue near Cody. Additional information has been requested.
