Surely you can’t eat all that candy… We’ve got a few reasons why you should donate
Rocky Mountain Family Dentistry and Hill Family Dentistry are partnering this year to bring Operation Gratitude’s Halloween Candy Buyback to Cody for the first time.
“Our goal is to host a fun event for children in our community, support our troops overseas, and to hopefully aid in the prevention of childhood cavities,” says Jaime Hill with Hill Family Dentistry.
On November 2nd from 4-7 pm, children can bring their candy to 1110 Beck Ave where Hill Family Dentistry and Rocky Mountain Family Dental will “buy back” their candy for $1 per pound, up to $5. The candy will then be donated to Operation Gratitude for their Halloween Candy Buyback Program.
Operation Gratitude (OG) is an organization which prepares and sends care packages to our military troops deployed overseas. Each year, dental offices across the nation collect candy which is then donated to OG for Halloween care packages. Last year alone, the organization collected over 401,000 lbs of candy and 3,000 dental offices participated nationwide.
McDonald’s has teamed up with them for this event. McDonald’s is generously donating a free ice cream cone certificate to the first 300 kids to bring their candy. And thanks to our dental offices, all participating children will be able to enter a drawing to win a gift certificate to Big Horn Cinemas.
Children and their families will also be able to write letters to the troops to be sent with the candy. Dr. Laci Rector, with Rocky Mountain Family Dentistry tells us, “This event is a great way to help brighten the day of some of our military soldiers.”
