“It will be a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery and get some exercise while you are at it,” said Pete Freire of PCNSA.

Volunteers will meet at 9 am in the Pahaska parking lot and will divide into work groups.

The focus of the cleanup will be to remove any down trees, limbs and trash from the trails so they will be ready once the snow starts falling. Participants can bring a hand saw, a lopper, clippers, etc. if they so wish.

“We have trees that fall down on the trails, and we have new little trees that try to grow,” said PCNSA President Joe Maniscalco. “We’re just cleaning all the debris off our trails so the snow will have a good base.”

This will be the 21st annual trail cleanup event as it’s been going on since 1994. Last year, about 30 people showed up to help clean the nordic trails around Pahaska, and PCNSA is hoping for a similar or better turnout this year.
